Greetings again.
Well, the wait continues for a property sale here but we are STILL hopeful but becoming frustrated somewhat with the real estate situation. Several couples have wiewed the property but to date - no buyer. We have even reduced the asking price a wee bit. Retirement in Costa Rica is the "carrot at the end of the stick" that is JUST out of reach right now. Will keep you posted as things progress.

Greetings again.
Well, SPRING as 'Sprung" here in Northeastern Ontario and we await developments in a possible sale of our property here. Should this sale become successful we will then, no doubt, be VERY busy with the paperwork and logistics of a move to our retirement property on Lake Arenal in Costa Rica. We will keep everyone posted as things progress. Wish us Luck !!

Greetings and WELCOME .

To introduce ourselves - we are Shirley & Arnold , married since 1973, no kids, tavellers when time & money permits, avid gardeners and photographers, dog lovers and adventure seekers. - well sort of anyway.
The Adventure begins with Shirley's visit to Costa Rica back in 1996. Being world travellers since about 1973 or so, we were both always in search of that ultimate spot to call HOME when we eventually retired. As Canadians we found that a really comfortable (read WARM...NO SNOW) retirement where we could garden year-'round would not be possible unless we re-located elsewhere. Thus the search began. Our primary goal was to find a spot where we could construct a new home for the 2 of us and our dogs. The cost of living had to be good, language was an issue and air and water quality were priorities. Shirley met some nice folks - Dick, Rene, Jim, Sandy & Roger - in Costa Rica and to make a long story much shorter, with their assistance, our piece of Paradise became a reality. With the property purchased the next thing on the "to do" list was to design a temporary residence - ie. a garage/lounge/hobby building where we could get settled prior to the construction of the main HOME. Via e-mail and with several visits back to Costa Rica, these plans were approved and all that being settled, we put out the FOR SALE sign on our property in northeastern Ontario and the wait for a buyer began. To date our property in Canada is still on the market but a prospects of a summer 2006 sale look favourable. Updates on this site will follow as things progress.
